I am 37 years old, I was born and raised in Moscow, since 2022 I have been living in Tel Aviv. I have a background in psychology, urban science, visual arts and design.
I have been working with video and film since 2010: I worked as a cameraman and then headed the video production department at the photography courses company Fotoshkola.net. In the early 2020s, I worked in the video marketing department of the “Alpina” publishing house. I worked several times as a cameraman on projects of friends (“Man with case"), and began making my own short films about 10 years ago.
I prefer documentary techniques, because most of my work is documentary. Freedom from institutionality is also important to me, so I like to experiment with format. This is how a photo-video film about the favorite places of Berliners “Favorite Place: Berlin” appeared, and then about Barcelona too.
After the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, I left Moscow and started a large self-doc project with the support of the University of Weimar “Lucky Break”.
After the start of the war in Israel, I made a short documentary about the experience of emotions by a resident of one of the affected kibbutz - “Life must go on.”
I am currently very interested in the topic of identity, home, language, memory and nostalgia. I am looking for methods, formats and characters for the articulate expression of this important topic.
