GUIDELINES
The video must be a student project completed by Oklahoma City Public school students in grades 9 - 12 enrolled in ANY visual or performing arts class including Film Production I, II, and the IB Film Program to qualify. Help and guidance from teachers is expected and acceptable.
This festival allows for roughly a two-year window of eligibility. Videos must have been completed between January 1, 2022-Present to qualify.
All films must be submitted by upload to FilmFreeway and made downloadable. Please ensure your project file’s privacy setting for “Download Permissions” is set to “Festivals that I submit to may download my video.”
All films must be at least 30 seconds in length and must not exceed 15 minutes in length.
Any film in a language other than English must submit the video with English subtitles packaged into the file.
Videos must include end credits that list student names that worked on the project. Preferably with their role/position for the project listed.
When submitting a video, be sure it meets all the guidelines listed here. The password to submit is: OKCPS
When uploading your film, you must use the following file naming convention:
SchoolName_TeacherName_FilmTitle.mp4
Ex. NWClassenHighSchool_MRoss_PromBandits.mov
We only accept .MP4 or .MOV file formats.
Film resolution must be 1080P.
All films accepted will be screened in 16:9 aspect ratio.
All music, images, titles, footage and any other copyrighted material included in your film project must be properly licensed. You must have the permission and/or rights to all the content submitted.
All winning films will be required to be re-edited to add the Scissortail Studios logo to their end credits and will be featured on the Scissortail Studios' YouTube page.
JUDGING
Each submitted video is evaluated by a panel of judges, consisting of industry professionals, that assess the videos based on both its creativity and technical merit.
