**Conditions for participation**
Any Higher Education student (both university and non-university) whose works deal with a theme related to any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals ( https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/ ) is allowed to participate.
More than 1 work may be presented per person, producer or distributor. The work presented could have been made previously and presented at other festivals.
Genre
The creative genre will be of free choice and all cinematographic techniques will be accepted: animation, fiction and/or documentary.
Duration
The duration of the short film may not exceed 10 minutes (credit titles included).
Inscription
Registration will be done online through the FilmFreeway platform, at the web address: ODS EN CORTO - FilmFreeway
Recommended digital format for the FilmFreeway platform:
Compressed copy of the short film with integrated subtitles in Spanish (both dialogue and labels).
Characteristics
Format: .mov, .avi, .mpeg o .mp4 (the latter being more recommended);
Codec H264;
Resolution: Up to 1920x1080 dpi
Audio: AAC / MPEG-2 audio / AC3 / AAC / FLAC / MP2 codecs recommended;
Subtitles: list of dialogues in Spanish (essential for those selected) and, if possible, in Valencian or English;
Subtitle file with time codes in the formats: SubRip (*.srt).
Requirements
The application period will end on JUNY 30, 2023 and will be sent through the FilmFreeway platform: https://filmfreeway.com/ODSENCORTO
The organization will require the selected short films to have all the video and audio files, including the necessary subtitles, to guarantee the highest quality and accessibility both in the viewing of the jury and in the projection to the public.
Announcement of the selection
The short films selected in ODS EN CORTO will be published on the Contest website during the month of September 2023: https://odsencorto.webs.upv.es/
The organization of the festival will communicate by email and/or through the FilmFreeway platform to all the participants the result of the selection.
In addition to the short film in digital format, those selected must send the following files to the organization of the Competition:
- Short film poster - three frames and short film poster in .jpg in high resolution;
- One minute trailer in the same format;
- A photograph of the director - when there is more than one, a photograph of each person and another of the group;
- Scanned copy of the director's DNI on both sides;
- Completed technical sheet, artistic sheet and synopsis;
- Contact details and any other relevant information of the short film.
Jury
It will be made up of teachers and professionals from the film industry, culture and communication. The jury's criteria will be to maintain the necessary balance between the content related to the SDGs and the cinematographic quality of the work.
Language
Short films made in any language are accepted, although it is an essential requirement for participation in the contest that they are subtitled:
If the short film is in Spanish, it must include subtitles in Spanish and, if possible, in English;
If the short film is in English or any other, it must include subtitles in Spanish.
Communication and presentation of the short films
The communication to the authors of the selected short films will be made personally and publicly by email and/or through the FilmFreeway platform once the Jury's decision is known. The screening date of the short films with subsequent discussion with their authors will be known after the announcement of the winners.
Rights/transfers
The rights of the selected short films will be transferred so that they can be screened during the celebration of the festival at their venues and safely on the internet/online through the festival website.
The winners will transfer the rights of the short films so that they can be screened in future presentations of the festival at an international level.
The author, producer or distributor who registers the film declares to be the owner and possess the rights to the work making legitimate use of it. ODS EN CORTO is not responsible for any complaint for copyright claims for the public exhibition of films that contain protected material.
The organization reserves the right to use excerpts (maximum 20 seconds) or frames of the selected works for the promotion of these and of the festival itself.
Participation in this Contest implies full acceptance of these rules, in addition to the commitment of veracity of the participants about their answers in the registration forms of their films to the Contest.

Podrá participar cualquier estudiantado de Educación Superior (tanto universitaria como no universitaria) cuyas obras traten una temática relacionada con cualquiera de los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/objetivos-de-desarrollo-sostenible/).
Podrán presentarse más de 1 obra por persona, productora o distribuidora. La obra presentada podría haberse realizado anteriormente y presentada en otros festivales.
Género
El género creativo será de libre elección y se admitirán todas las técnicas cinematográficas: animación, ficción y/o documental.
Duración
La duración del cortometraje no podrá sobrepasar los 10 minutos (títulos de crédito incluidos).

-La inscripción se realizará online a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway, en la dirección: https://filmfreeway.com/ODSENCORTO
- Formato digital recomendable para la plataforma FilmFreeway:
- Copia comprimida del cortometraje con subtítulos integrados en castellano (tanto de diálogo como de rótulos).

-Códec H264;
-Resolución: Hasta 1920x1080 ppp
-Audio: se recomienda códecs AAC / MPEG-2 audio / AC3 / AAC / FLAC / MP2;

Requisitos
El plazo de entrega finalizará el 30 DE JUNIO de 2023 y se enviará a través de la plataforma de FilmFreeway: https://filmfreeway.com/ODSENCORTO
La organización requerirá a los cortometrajes seleccionados todos los archivos de vídeo y audio, incluidos los subtítulos necesarios, para garantizar la máxima calidad y accesibilidad tanto en el visionado del jurado como en la proyección al público.
Comunicación de la selección:
Los cortometrajes seleccionados en ODS EN CORTO serán publicados en la página web del Certamen durante el mes de septiembre de 2023: https://odsencorto.webs.upv.es/
La organización del festival comunicará por email y/o a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway a todos los participantes el resultado de la selección.
Además del cortometraje en formato digital, los seleccionados deberán enviar a la organización del Certamen los siguientes archivos:
-Cartel del cortometraje - tres frames y cartel del cortometraje en .jpg en alta resolución;
-Tráiler de un minuto en el mismo formato;
-Una fotografía del director o directora - cuando haya más de una, una fotografía de cada una de las personas y otra de grupo;
-Copia escaneada del DNI del director o directora por ambas caras;
-Ficha técnica cumplimentada, ficha artística y sinopsis;
-Datos de contacto y cualquier otra información relevante del cortometraje.
Idioma
Se aceptan cortometrajes realizados en cualquier idioma, aunque es requisito imprescindible para la participación en el certamen que estén subtitulados:
-Si el cortometraje está en castellano, deberá incluir subtítulos en castellano y, si es posible, en inglés;
-Si el cortometraje está en inglés o cualquier otro, deberá incluir subtítulos en castellano.
Comunicación y presentación de los cortos
La comunicación a las personas autoras de los cortos seleccionados se hará personal y públicamente por email y/o a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway una vez se conozca el fallo del Jurado. La fecha de proyección de los cortometrajes con debate posterior con sus autoras/es, se hará saber tras el anuncio de los ganadores.
Derechos/cesiones
- Se cederán los derechos de los cortometrajes seleccionados para que puedan ser proyectados durante la celebración del festival en sus sedes y de modo seguro en internet/online a través de la web del festival.
-Los premiados cederán los derechos de los cortometrajes para que puedan ser proyectados en futuras presentaciones del festival a nivel internacional.
-El autor o autora, productor o productora o distribuidor o distribuidora que inscriba la película declara ser titular, y poseer los derechos sobre la obra haciendo un uso legítimo de ella. ODS EN CORTO no se hace responsable de ninguna denuncia por reclamación de derechos de autor por la exhibición pública de películas que contengan material protegido.
-La organización se reserva el derecho de poder utilizar extractos (máximo 20 segundos) o fotogramas de las obras seleccionadas para la promoción de éstas y del mismo festival.
La participación en este Certamen implica la aceptación íntegra de estas bases, además del compromiso de veracidad de los participantes sobre sus respuestas en los formularios de inscripción de sus películas al Certamen.
