A writer, editor and illustrator who transforms her experimental visions into cinematic reality. Ning Xuan loves directing unique narratives that compel all hearts.
Ning Xuan is a writer, director and editor from Singapore who recently graduated from Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design, and Media. Her love for stop-motion and mixed-media experimentation inspires her work.
Her latest graduation short, "I Think I'm Going to Die” (2024) won the Best Singapore Student Award and Audience Choice at Cartoons Underground in Singapore. It was also the third place winner for Chilemonos International Film Festival in Chile.
Her first film "Paper Offerings" (2022), co-directed with Vanessa Ng and Winona Mazo, was also selected for the Annecy Film Festival MIFA Campus as a collaboration with the French Embassy of Singapore and animation schools: Atelier de Sèvres, École Émile Cohl, LASALLE College of the Arts and Nanyang Technological University. It has also won first place at the 100-Second International Film Festival in Tehran.
