The Newark International Film Festival is a three day festival that showcases the innovation and breadth of the film industry. Located 15 minutes from New York, Newark IFF maximizes exposure for your film, screenplay or series by drawing film and entertainment leaders from both NYC and LA.

Events include:
--screenings at a number of cultural anchor institutions and outdoor screenings;
--stunt exhibitions;
--pitch opportunities and auditions for TV and film;
--acting, directing, producing and crowd funding workshops, and much more.

The festival provides a number of engaging experiences for attendees such as pop-up concerts from hip hop to jazz, house to gospel and more, as well as a televised awards and entertainment showcase and a film scavenger hunt.

The NIFF is the first international film festival hosted in Newark. A main feature of the NIFF is the Hannibal Goodwin Award for Innovation in Filmmaking in homage to Hannibal Goodwin, the Episcopal priest who invented celluloid film 1887 in Newark, NJ.

    We were honored to be in excellent company with our short film Pas de Deux. The only downfall was that the venues were spread out across Newark and if you were traveling on foot, you would end up missing the majority of the films by the time you arrived. A shuttle would have been helpful especially for filmmakers that had been selected to be a part of the festival. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience to be surrounded by such talented emerging Black and POC filmmakers. I highly recommend this festival as far as quality of films, diverse audience and cultural significance of the venues where the films were screened. Thank you NewarkIFF for making us "Official Selection" in 2017.

    Newark is QUICKLY putting itself on the map with this amazing festival. There was a solidly diverse line-up, great communication with respect to events, a wonderful array of celebrities and celebrated talent. I would only say that timing of events and schedules could be examined but I would lean that to the energy and anxiety of creatives involved in all of these processes, so it being only 2, I didn't let that lessen my excitement or my scores! BRAVO, NEWARK!!!!!! #2018LEGGO
