We are a Berlin-based filmfestival by and for neurodivergent people. We highlight neurodivergent perspectives with the aim to foster mutual understanding and community. Short films by neurodivergent creators or exploring themes of neurodiversity will be shown in a small setting at our third edition in October 2026.

Every year, we show selected short films with English subtitles in screening blocks alongside thematically related films, followed by Q&A’s with some of the filmmakers.

We aim to make the screenings sensory-friendly and provide accommodations wherever possible. Neurocinema is volunteer based and community funded.

No matter if you’re diagnosed, self-identified or just curious: join us to meet neurodivergent creators and film enthusiasts, and immerse yourself in films made by and for neurodivergent minds.

In 2026, we are introducing our first festival award! For the first time in our festival's history, one film will be selected for special recognition.

The award honors a work that meaningfully contributes to neurodivergent representation through authentic storytelling, artistic approach, or lived perspective.

The winning film will be chosen by our festival team and announced during the closing event.

These are the general rules of your festival along with and terms and conditions of entry, to which all entrants must agree.

Submission Requirements

Your film must be either:

– directly related to neurodiversity (in topic or theme), OR

IMPORTANT: Submissions will be disqualified if they do not clearly relate to neurodiversity.

Beyond glad that my films 'Unpack' and 'Beach Vacation' were selected to be shared with others like me. The festival team was very polite and communicative, despite my not being able to make it there physically.

An excellent and truly meaningful festival that helps bring neurodiversity into the global conversation. Communication was perfect — always kind, clear, and supportive. My father attended the screening and even had a brief exchange with the audience, which made the experience even more special for us. A deeply enriching and rewarding experience. Thank you, Neurocinema!
