There are many places I call home. Born in 1995, I spent most of my childhood in the small village of Roes, where I was able to enjoy life in the countryside with all its advantages: I spent my mornings fetching milk from the nearest farm with my grandfather on his tractor and otherwise spent the whole day out in fresh air. In 2014, I started my training as a healthcare and nursing assistant. I worked in nursing for a few years with the aim of eventually becoming a doctor but soon got the feeling that I wouldn't be doing myself justice. I enjoyed being creative far too much so I decided to start studying film directing in 2020.
I want to broaden my horizons and listen to other people's stories. The most exciting moments in my life so far have been made possible by mutual understanding and interest. My work as a care volunteer in Ghana was a particular highlight for me, but I wouldn't want to miss my semester abroad in Perth last year either. I firmly believe that all of these influences will allow me to tell better stories and tell stories better, and I can't wait to put my life experiences into film. I like to focus on socio-political issues, as I am particularly interested in films with a certain depth, where images serve the story, rather than a story constructed around exciting visuals.
