Born and raised in New York City, Ned Warner is the owner and founder of Juna Creativeworks, a full-service film production and graphic design studio based out of Leadville, CO.
Ned is a graduate of the New York Film Academy and majored in Darkroom Photography and Printmaking at Colby College in Waterville, ME. He is drawn to telling the human stories of strength, resilience and redemption through film, photography and design. He honed his film craft working at rock climbing filmmaking outfit Sender Films in Boulder, CO.
A lifelong learner, Ned is continually interested in seeing how far he can push himself creatively. He is currently wrapping up a documentary film that follows the story of Bekah Grim, a dog sled musher and prolific playwright who was kicked out of her family home and left at a halfway house as a teenager. As a part of the film, Ned facilitated and shot an emotional conversation between Bekah and her mother that begins in confrontation and ends in forgiveness.
From filmmaking to graphic design, Ned’s work is often characterized as immersive and authentic. In getting to the heart of matters, Ned is interested in telling stories a bit off the beaten path. To stay sharp in between film shoots, he shoots portraits of Leadville locals. Ned’s portrait photographs are influenced by his study of Annie Lebowitz’s body of work, and the persistent beauty of his surroundings living in the High Country.
Ned’s work is marked by a sense of presence and place. He reads a good deal of poetry in his spare time, and has difficulty deciding whether his favorite poet is Mary Oliver or Billy Collins. He brings character and quality to his freelance work, producing film and video for local clients in the Arkansas Valley such as Cloud City Conservation Center, Life Time Fitness and St. Vincent Health. In his graphic work, he specializes in logo design, with clients such as the Tabor Opera House, the Lake County Tourism Panel and Freight Leadville.
When he’s not out shooting or designing for clients, Ned can be found hiking around Colorado, working on documentary film projects, and enjoying Leadville living. Ned can be reached through his portfolio website - www.junacreativeworks.com.
