Submission Deadline June 15, 2022

Dear Artist:

Thank you for inquiring about the NBTF Film Fest, a component of the 2022 National Black Theatre Festival® (NBTF) to be held August 1 – August 6, 2022 in Winston-Salem, NC.

This event recognizes independent filmmakers for their enormous contributions to the industry. African Americans have long made a profound change in the landscape of cinematic expression. Many of these changes are due to the hard work and dedication of African American artists behind the camera.

Below is information on how to submit materials for the NBTF Film Fest. Please be aware of all deadline dates because they differ for each component.

In order for NBTF to notify you promptly, each submission package must include the following:

A formal letter of introduction clearly stating the following:
● Name of presenter, address, city, state, zip code, office numbers (phone/fax), and e-mail
● A DVD of the complete film short (30 minutes or less) submitted to NBTF office
● Film synopsis and exact length of film
● URL to film trailer
● Printed reviews of film. Identify the publication (s). Send copies only.
● Highlight of celebrity performers
● $35.00 submission fee to cover administrative expenses
