Nassim Abassi is an international film director and the Managing Director for Moondust Production, a film production company based in Morocco that provides film services for film shoots in Morocco.

Nassim has produced several film projects since his return to Morocco in 2005. His feature film “Majid” won “Best Screenplay Award” at the National Moroccan Film Festival, won “Best Feature Film Award” at the International Film Festival for Children & Youth in Tunisia and won a “Special Mention” by the jury of the Cinekid international film festival in Amsterdam. This film had its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival and took part in 30 other world film festivals where it collected 10 further international prizes.

His film “Bila Houdoud” (Without Limits) which he wrote and directed, was the most viewed film in Morocco when it was broadcast on national television (2007), and has accumulated more than 7 Million views since it was released on youtube in 2017.

“My Uncle”, his fourth feature film as a screenwriter and Film director was released in 2017 and had its world Premiere at the prestigious International Film Festival of Marrakech. The film starred Moroccan comedy legend, “Abderraouf” who won a lifetime achievement Award thanks to this movie at that same film festival. “My Uncle” took part afterwards in several film festivals too, and was shown several times on Moroccan TV and other TV channels in the Arab world. It is also one of the rare Moroccan films to be dubbed in Chinese and shown on Chinese Film channel.

Nassim Abassi also directed four other television films. He is currently preparing an epic movie on the famous Queen ruler of Tetouan “Sayyida Al Hurra” while working on several film productions and TV series projects that are at different stages of development.

Nassim Abassi lived for 16 years in the UK where he studied a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Film & Video. He worked there for a few years in a post-production company and shot several short films in London. He also shot in London his first feature film “The Winter Sun is a Lie” that he wrote and directed. This low-budget English film won the Award for Best Feature Film at the International Digital Film Festival in New Delhi (2005).
