Nana Duffuor is a storyteller of Ghanaian descent based in New York City. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Screenwriting/Directing at Columbia University. Nana is a recipient of the New York Women in Film & Television Scholarship, Bobby Kashif Memorial Scholarship, and the Columbia University Merit Fellowship for Outstanding Rising Second Year Students. Her work has screened at festivals across the U.S. and internationally, including the New York African Film Festival, AccraIndie Film Festival, the Micheaux Film Festival, the International Queer Women of Color Film Festival, and the Newark International Film Festival, where her short film Casual Encounter received the award for Best Actress in a Narrative Short Film. She wrote and directed her most recent short film, Confirmation, in Ghana in June 2022—the first-ever Columbia student film produced in the country. Nana is passionate about collaborating with fellow filmmakers to tell unforgettable stories that offer nuanced portrayals of the human condition.
