The Shortest Day is a film festival in Belgrade, Serbia that is part of the world-wide Short Film Day celebration, which is celebrated on the shortest day of the year - December 21st.

Traditionally, each year’s non-competition program selection consists of the European Film Academy Shorts from that year.
The competition program is dedicated to the films made by University students from various countries in South, East, Central and South-East Europe, as well as enthusiasts and amateurs who do not have formal education in film.
Each year The Shortest Day works on stimulating young creative minds by holding Masterclass programmes lead by reputable filmmakers from Europe, helping inspired and curious enthusiasts to become future professionals.

The Shortest Day film festival has been running since 2012. and has supported more than a hundred student and amateur short films, whilst being the only Festival in Serbia that screens the European Film Academy best short films from that year!
