The NYC Film Festival (NYCFF) "Where film never sleeps" is an annual film festival created by Do it yourself mentality independant filmmakers for Do it yourself independant filmmakers.

The main mission is to prove that it is possible for independant filmmakers to make high quality films on a low budget with a skeleton crew.

Our motto is if you can't get a budget, do it yourself and make the films that you want to see.

We praise filmmakers who were able to complete their films without big money funding or relying on wealthy family and relatives. Though some might not like this statement, as New York City filmmakers, actors and artists we have experienced severe financial hardships to make our films. Living in New York City is very expensive, one typical needs a day job or two to survive. Everyone knows the cost of living in NYC is very high compared to other places, so completing a film on a low budget is an artform of it's own here and NYCFF applauds that type of filmmaking.

We are eager to see our filmmaker colleagues films, and our mission is to provide networking events, visibility, showcasing the film around most visited theaters in New York City and promoting each independant filmmaker to the best we can.

NYCFF is comprised of networking events and parties, screenings, competitions, lectures from industry professionals, and a community to share ideas of cinematography, editing techniques, graphics, and overall film.

NYCFF does not select nor encourage submissions of films based on political statements, themes or if the film fits our festival. We want to see compelling stories from any filmmaker that was able to complete their film and we judge by how good the film is based on impact, technical, performance and content each of these categories are explained in detail to our jurors.
