U.S. high school filmmakers can sign up today at kinolime.com/nxt to (for free!) enter their 5-15 page script to Kinolime’s inaugural NXT High School Screenplay Competition for a chance to win a $5,000 production grant to make their short as well as an additional $2,500 college scholarship. Kinolime’s team will also provide hands-on support to help make your short film a reality. No entry fees. Just you and your story.

HOW IT WORKS:

1.⁠ ⁠SUBMIT YOUR SHORT SCRIPT - Submit your complete screenplay and 5-15 script on the NXT competition page. No fee required. (https://www.kinolime.com/nxt)

2.⁠ ⁠AUDIENCE VOTING - You, the audience, read and vote for your favorite scripts to advance to the TOP 10.

3.⁠ ⁠JUDGES PANEL SELECTION - Kinolime's development team reviews the TOP 10 short scripts and select 3 finalists.

4.⁠ ⁠AUDIENCE DECIDES THE WINNING SHORT SCRIPT - From the final 3 short scripts, YOU, the audience, read and vote on which screenplay will receive the NXT grant.

5.⁠ ⁠GREENLIGHT! - The winning short script begins its journey from script to screen.

ELIGIBILITY & RULES

1.⁠ ⁠Free to enter — no submission fees

2.⁠ ⁠Must be a student at an accredited U.S. high school

3.⁠ ⁠1 submission allowed per filmmaker; up to 10 total submissions per school

4.⁠ ⁠Narrative shorts only

5.⁠ ⁠Screenplays must be between 5 and 15 pages

6.⁠ ⁠All languages welcome, but screenplays must include English subtitles

7.⁠ ⁠Any use of AI or large language models must be disclosed. Scripts found to contain AI-generated material may be flagged for additional review and risk disqualification.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1.⁠ ⁠Screenplay (PDF format, 5–15 pages)

2.⁠ ⁠Registered approval from a faculty member of student filmmaker's school

3.⁠ If minor, signed consent/release waiver with guardian approval
