The NRV Youth Film Festival is based in Blacksburg, but is open to youth around the world. The festival has been put together with support from the Lyric Theater. We wish to showcase this art-form and attract those who have a fondness for it. The art of cinema is a very complicated yet beautiful one. It combines multiple kinds of other art-forms within itself in order to express emotions few others can recreate. Our festival celebrates film by and with todays youth. We are here to celebrate those coming of age who wish to participate in such an art and contribute to its existence in the New River Valley and beyond.

-Maximum film length 15 minutes.
-No graphic violence or gore
-No lewd language or imagery
-No offensive language or imagery
-No nudity
-Your attendance is highly recommended, but there will be a Facebook livestream if you are not able to attend.
-Must be a young and upcoming filmmaker or include youth in the production process (teens and early twenties)

    Even though it was over Online, during COVID-19, I still found it thrilling and exciting as the communication with the Director, Diego was great and the quality of the festival was great too as looking at films through the computer was top-notch. Networking is included in that quality which was outstanding as many other festivals are still having trouble networking the films over Facebook or other types of medium. The hospitality and with consistent help from Diego was excellent.

    Winning best international narrative and partaking in the festival was one of the greatest accomplishments I ever took.

    Thanks once again Diego and the NRV Youth Film Festival.
