NAKED MOUNTAIN International Independent (Short) Film Festival is here to honor, highlight, celebrate and uncover great storytelling that delves into what it means to be human. We want to find those great shorts that may have been passed over by more traditional festivals.

Submissions Internationally and of all race, creeds, and cultures welcome.

After an amazing inaugural year in New York City, we are so excited to continue this important festival in MIAMI for our second year. We dont want to be locked into a single location, and we will continue to tap into various locations. (with mountains or not ;)

NAKED MOUNTAIN is about stripping down to the raw essence of life. We celebrate creativity and unique perspectives. We champion humanity and unity. We are connection to our planet, our places, and to each other as part of the same creation. We are looking for stories that have a unique vision or perspective about what it is to be alive.

This is an INTERNATIONAL film festival for filmmakers by filmmakers. This is for those with passion and determination, dreamers with life experience and stories to tell. This is for those who are looking to share and connect with fellow artists and creators and producers ready to embrace our human connection.

Knowing how hard it is to make films and to get it "out there" and be seen. We want to remain accessibly priced while offering value for the creators and attendees.

Awards & Prizes

^ Official Selection – All films nominated for an award and selected for screening will be notified on the Notification Date. Screening materials will be requested and more information about the event will be provided.

^ Winners – Award winners will be announced at our festival after the screenings.

^ Awards will include a beautiful hand made trophy from artist Jack Warren
^
^ Awards will be given in the following categories:

^ 1 x Best Short Film
^ 1 x Best Short Documentary
^ 1 x Audience Awards will be chosen based on the votes of the attending audience.

^ with mention for
^ Best Cinematography
^ Best Soundtrack

^ please note, that if you are not able to attend in person and win a trophy award, you will be asked to pay for shipping.

Rules & Terms


^ All films must be submitted in English or with English subtitles (if in a different language).

^ Short films must not exceed (around) 45 minutes. ;)

^ Filmmakers are responsible for sorting out the copyright on their own materials.

^ By submitting to us, you give us the right to screen your film in front of a live audience and online.

^ By submitting, you agree that we can screen your film at a later installment of our festival.

^ Nominations: These are all the films that have been nominated for an award in a category. All nominated films may not be screened.

^ Official Selection: These are all the films selected for screening, which will be notified via email. All selected films may not be screened.

^ Honorable Mention: If you received a Honorable Mention email, but no Official Selection email, it means your film may not be screened, but is considered by our panel to be worthy of this mention. (and may be screened at a later date)

^ We may promote clips from your film on social media, based on the press kits you provide us with.

^ We retain the right to change the date and venue of the festival under special circumstances. All filmmakers will be informed about any changes through email and our online platforms.

^ We place no restrictions on your work in terms of premiere status or whether your work has been made available online.

^ We do not accept partial screeners, trailers, or unfinished work.

^ Any technical issues with the submitted films are 100% the responsibility of the filmmakers. If, at the time of judging, your video file doesn’t work or doesn’t have English subtitles (if in a language other than English), it will be automatically rejected, without a refund. Please contact the festival team ASAP if there are any issues with the submission process, and a solution will be found.

^ We cannot provide refunds.

^ By submitting to us you agree to our terms and conditions and to receiving marketing newsletters and discounts about film festivals in the form of emails. We will never sell your information to third parties.

^ We reserve the right to update our terms and conditions.

    So grateful to the NMIIFF team for including VALLEYHEART in their inaugural festival year. The organizers were so welcoming, creating the perfect atmosphere to connect with other filmmakers and film enthusiasts. Everyone involved was passionate about independent filmmaking and so so supportive of filmmakers. I'm excited to watch this festival grow.

    Great film festival, it was well put together, screening room was comfy, organized, super professional. Love the taco truck and complimentary beverage, excellent film festival and great way to network with other professionals in entertainment!

    Although I wasn't able to attend, the fest organizers had great communication, were welcoming, and extremely supportive. Judging from their social media posts and follow up communication, it looked like they had an amazing time and I'm glad to have been selected. Looking forward to submitting more of my films in the future.
