NEWHOUSE is a screening hosted and created by comedian, filmmaker, and artist Lorelei Ramirez (VICE/ADULT SWIM).
NEWHOUSE features short films from filmmakers working today across a variety of genres. This seasonal series highlights works from people of all genders, sexualities, races, and classes to create an equal playing ground for beautiful and thought provoking work. Prioritizing LGBTQ, POC, women and accepting work from all, NEWHOUSE seeks to make an even playing ground for conceptually experimental work.
By gathering a group of visually decadent pieces for everyone to enjoy, NEWHOUSE creates an atmosphere for film appreciation and the comfort of knowing good things still exist. This night is meant to highlight some of the most exciting voices working in short form film today that might not yet be noticed or are well on their way and to give you, the viewer, a visual escape that’ll inspire you thereafter.
This year we will be screening COMEDIES for the New York Comedy Festival on NOVEMBER 8th as well as screening ALL GENRES for MOMAS PS1 November 15th and 16th.
