The NeFeNeFi film festival is once again taking place in the picturesque town of Velvary, under the auspices of the town and its mayor.
As the name suggests, NeFeNeFi stands for Nejkratší Festival Nejkratších Filmů (The Shortest Festival of the Shortest Films) and the event itself lasts only one day. The president and founder of the festival is three time Czech Lion winner, cinematographer and director F. A. Brabec, whom you can also meet in person at the gala screening and awards ceremony.
The festival was founded in 2021 on the property of cinematographer and director F. A. Brabec, where a large number of short films were screened. It served as a grand showcase of promising new film works. After the screenings, there followed a lively and enriching discussion and many more hours of fun and networking among filmmakers, which is also one of our main goals.
The mission of the festival is to share the joy and experience of filmmaking among enthusiastic creators and to support and develop their creative ideas and skills. In addition to the festival president F. A. Brabec, the event is organized by a trio of students from the Film Academy of Miroslav Ondříček in Písek and their team: Michal Špejra, Michal Pazderka and Adam Poláček. These students seized the opportunity to further develop the festival and are now fully dedicated to bringing its next edition to life.
