Myat Ei Mon is a filmmaker, producer, and video editor with over nine years of experience. She is passionate about storytelling, filmmaking, and the film-producing process, specializing in documentary films that involve extensive interaction with diverse individuals. Her work often highlights critical social issues such as women's rights, domestic violence, and gender equality, particularly through collaborations with non-profit organizations. More recently, she has begun to explore her narrative filmmaking journey as a Director with her first film, No Love Lost. She focuses on making films based on women's emotions and expressing the intricacies of human desires.
Myat Ei Mon attended the Diploma in Computer Arts (MCCi) in 2014. In 2025, she studied Documentary Filmmaking at Human Dignity Film Institute. Afterward, she made her first documentary film, "What's on Your Mind?", in 2016 as her final project.From 2016 to 2017, she worked as an animator for MITV and MRTV Entertainment Channel.
After making three short documentaries, Myat Ei Mon transitioned to commercial filmmaking, interning at Media Medley in 2017. In 2018, she founded Omi Film Production to create high-quality content and contribute to Myanmar's independent film industry.
In 2018, as a producer, the first film "Void" was recognized at the Wathann Film Festival 2018 and the Locarno Open Door Section 2022. In 2020, she produced "Burn Boys", which won the "New Vision Award" at the Wathann Film Festival 2020 and was also selected for the official screening at the Sea Short Film Festival, Minikino Film Week, Inter Film Festival, Toronto Asian Reel, and Image Forum Japan in 2021.
In 2022, she developed her first narrative film, "No Love Lost," which won the production grant and the "Woman in the Light" award at the Myanmar Script Fund, Memory! Cinema. That same year, she and her producer participated in Purin Short Film Camp 2022. In 2024, she completed filming and the post-production process for No Love Lost.
Since 2024, she has been working as a freelance Director and Producer, overseeing all aspects of the film production process with several production companies. Additionally, through her Omi Film production, she is currently planning a workshop to share knowledge about acting.
