SUBMISSIONS EXTENDED TO 13th AUGUST 2023!
We launched the season a little later than usual this round and having given it some thought, 3 months might not be enough time for one to come up with, plan, and shoot a thoughtful short film.

We believe everyone deserves a chance to share your voices and perspectives - we don't want anyone to miss out on that, just because of timing.

So, it's not too late for you to plan and shoot your films! We'd love to see what your perspectives on 'REVIVAL' are and can't wait to share your stories with others :)

โžค About MMOF S3 Theme (Revival)

The first few thoughts that comes to mind when discussing on Mental Health usually revolves around the doom and gloom such as the mental struggles people face, its signs and its negative effects, but not many will talk about the healing process.
Hence, MMOF this year chose the theme Revival to provide people with the platform to share journeys of healing from the challenges they face.
Together throughout our journey through the harsh pandemic, dreadful natural disasters, and each of our individual struggles, we want to show the world that there is always a chance to revive ourselves from the pain and struggle, to come back stronger and better than ever.

  • I want to thank the festival for once again making a difference in my life when Halfway Down was selected and given the grand prize reward. As a new filmmaker, I had many opportunities given by the festival. Also, my first short film, which I submitted in the first season, did not win, but I was passionate about it and had faith in myself to try again. The same goes for you; try, fail, get back up, and try again. You never know, after all.

    Warm Regards,

    To MMOF

    To whom it may concern,

Recently I have viewed and watched the films for this year's MMOF entry on YouTube. It's nice to know that there's variety of films dedicated to Mental Health.

However, my curiosity side told me to view my own film "Waktu" which in result; I am disappointed and upset upon looking at the description of it.

    - didn't include full credits. There's two people you should be filling their names. I asked myself...why bother filling up the form and details if you're not going to include it at all?
    - The filmmaker's description of work are not detailed and only one third of the info was put out. Why should I write my full reflection on how I felt throughout these years when you only included 1/3 of it? This makes me question other filmmakers description and their work they have put in. Do you filter out theirs too? How can I fully get a grasp and understanding of a filmmaker if the message was not fully written as per the filmmaker itself? Why you gotta limit the speech? it doesn't make sense and it doesn't hurt to include all of it.

I'm giving my feedback upon watching other films and so I happen to came across mine and when I looked at the description, I'm just at loss for words at how this festival managed to filter out and not giving the full info as per requested by you guys when I submitted the film.

How would I know if you guys filtered other filmmakers as well? Silencing them once again.

I'm not asking to change description or include the full details in, I'm informing so that this would be avoided for the next MMOF's festival.

That's all my concern. Thank you for reading until the very end. Have a nice day.

    Stay Sane.

  • Brilliant film festival. My short film, Blue, was selected, and had won an award at the festival. The organizing committee were so friendly and warm, and it was such an amazing experience watching my film on the big screen. It was such a well-planned programme, I had such an amazing time, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Kudos!
