Museums in Short is an international contest for short videos RELATED ONLY TO MUSEUMS.

App, games, films… today museums’ multimedia projects can have many forms. Nevertheless, short videos appear the most common option: conceived as visual exhibit or promotional content, short videos are a sort of common denominator, in the real life of contemporary museums.

Launched in 2012, Museums in Short awards are presented to institutions, authors or producers who use videos to enhance museum communication and engage audiences. Projects may include documentaries, animations, trailers and visual installations.

The winner receives a symbolic prize (a copy of an historical rhodoid, preserved by MUSIL) and an invitation to the next Best in Heritage, the most important international event dedicated to museums.

Participants are intended to be museums. Producers and authors can apply ONLY IF THEIR SHORT VIDEO WAS COMMISSIONED BY A MUSEUM.
Entries are supposed to be in video format, related to museums and realized from 1st January 2021 onwards.
Videos must be in English or with English subtitles. Videos in different languages without English subtitles won’t be accepted.
The maximum length required is 10 minutes.
Each museum can be represented by only 1 video.
The final judgment on the pertinence of the content is a prerogative of the organization.
