2. CATEGORÍAS
Se establecerán dos categorías mediante convocatoria pública:
- Sección Oficial de Largometrajes
- Sección Cruce de caminos: cineastas de canarias
3. REQUISITOS DE PARTICIPACIÓN GENERALES
Todas las obras deben haber sido producidas a partir del 1 de enero de 2024.
Con el propósito de facilitar la difusión de las películas a la mayor cantidad de público nacional e internacional, no se exigirá ningún tipo de estatus de premiere de las obras como requisito para ser seleccionadas.
Las películas inscritas en ediciones anteriores no podrán volver a presentarse a la convocatoria.
4. REQUISITOS DE PARTICIPACIÓN ESPECÍFICOS
4.1. Requisitos específicos de la Sección Oficial de Largometrajes
Se trata de una categoría de carácter competitivo a la que podrán concurrir largometrajes de cualquier género y de cualquier país o nacionalidad.
A los efectos de la presente convocatoria, se considerará película de largometraje aquella cuya duración sea igual o superior a los 40 minutos.
Se establece un único Premio como Mejor Película de la Sección Oficial, dotado con 6.500 € (seis mil quinientos euros) que no podrá declararse desierto. Esta cantidad estará sujeta a las retenciones que especifique la legislación vigente en el momento de su abono, las cuales se encuentran incluidas en la asignación del premio. El premio quedará dividido en dos partes. Un 75% irá destinado a la persona o personas responsables de la dirección de la película, el otro 25% irá destinado a la distribuidora de la película. En caso de que alguna de estas personas haya cedido o delegado por contrato sus derechos de cobro en favor de un/a tercero/a (productoras, agentes, etc.), comunicarán por escrito la existencia de un contrato previo de cesión de derechos a la organización de la Muestra de Cine. El abono del premio se efectuará durante el primer cuatrimestre del año.
La Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote podrá conservar una copia de la película premiada para su archivo, y podrá exhibirla hasta en dos sesiones dentro de su programación anual en los siguientes años, con un fin cultural y no lucrativo.
La organización de la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote designará un jurado conformado por un mínimo de tres y un máximo de cinco personas que debatirá sus decisiones públicamente y cuyo fallo será inapelable. No podrán formar parte del jurado personas con intereses en la producción, distribución o cualquier tipo de explotación de las películas a competición. A la deliberación pública del jurado no podrán asistir personas con intereses directos en las películas a competición.
La dirección de la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote o alguna persona representante del proyecto podrá estar presente, con voz pero sin voto, en la deliberación del jurado, que podrá ser presencial o telemática.
La película premiada deberá incorporar la imagen que la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote le proporcionará en los créditos iniciales de cada copia que se exhiba con posterioridad al certamen, tanto en las copias para exhibición en salas como en las copias de soporte doméstico (Blu-ray, DVD o Internet), así como en cualquier tipo de material promocional que se emplee.
El premio en metálico será abonado tras la firma de un acuerdo entre la organización y la película premiada, en el cual quede especificado el cumplimiento de las presentes bases.
Una vez presentado un largometraje, no podrá ser retirado.
Durante la celebración de la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote, la organización podrá exhibir las películas seleccionadas hasta en un máximo de dos ocasiones, salvo la película ganadora, que podrá ser exhibida en tres ocasiones. A este respecto, las productoras cederán los derechos para la exhibición pública de sus películas durante el tiempo de celebración de la Muestra de Cine, sin coste alguno para la misma.
4.2. Requisitos específicos de la sección Cruce de caminos: cineastas de Canarias
La sección Cruce de caminos: cineastas de Canarias está dirigida a cortometrajes producidos y/o filmados en las islas Canarias o dirigidos por cineastas nacidos/as o residentes en las islas Canarias. Esta condición se deberá acreditar documentalmente.
Se considerará película de cortometraje aquella cuya duración sea inferior a los 30 minutos.
La sección tendrá un carácter competitivo, dotado con un premio de 1.200 € (mil doscientos euros) para la persona o personas responsables de la dirección del mejor cortometraje. Esta cantidad estará sujeta a las retenciones que especifique la legislación vigente en el momento de su abono, las cuales se encuentran incluidas en la asignación del premio.
El Jurado de esta sección será el mismo que el de la Sección Oficial, si bien su deliberación tendrá lugar a puerta cerrada.
5. PROCESO DE INSCRIPCIÓN
La fecha de inscripción de películas se establece entre el 2 de abril de 2025 y el 31 de agosto de 2025 a las 23:59 horas (GMT+01:00, hora de Canarias)
Las productoras o distribuidoras interesadas en inscribir sus obras deberán hacerlo exclusivamente a través del formulario disponible en la página web oficial de la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote: www.muestradecinedelanzarote.com.
Aunque el acceso a la convocatoria pueda realizarse desde plataformas externas, solo se admitirán las solicitudes formalizadas mediante el formulario de la web del festival.
La inscripción de películas es completamente gratuita y no conlleva ninguna tasa.
Para su valoración, no se aceptarán películas en formato físico (DVD, Blu-ray, memoria USB...).
Todas las obras deberán presentarse en su idioma original. En el caso de que la versión original sea en un idioma distinto del español, deberá enviarse obligatoriamente con subtítulos en español o en inglés.
6. REQUISITOS DE LAS PELÍCULAS SELECCIONADAS
6.1. Envío de copias de exhibición
La fecha límite para el envío de las copias de exhibición de las películas seleccionadas será el 20 de octubre de 2025.
En su compromiso con la sostenibilidad ecológica, la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote fomenta que el envío de copias se realice preferentemente por vía telemática.
Los formatos aceptados para la proyección serán DCP y archivo digital de alta resolución. Además, se requerirá una copia de respaldo en formato H.264 o similar.
Las películas seleccionadas deberán contar con una copia de proyección subtitulada en español (si este no es su idioma original) o en inglés. Asimismo, será obligatorio enviar un listado de diálogos en español o inglés.
Como condición indispensable para competir, se exigirá la presencia del director o directora en el festival. Los costes serán sufragados por la organización.
6.2. Materiales promocionales
Además de las copias de exhibición, las personas encargadas de las películas seleccionadas deberán enviar y ceder el uso, antes del 20 de octubre de 2025, de al menos, los siguientes materiales:
- Enlace de visionado de la película con su correspondiente contraseña
- Cartel de la película en alta resolución
- Al menos tres fotogramas de la película en alta resolución
- Un clip de vídeo con al menos dos minutos de metraje
- Tráiler de la película
- Biofilmografía de la directora o director
- Fotografía de la directora o director en alta resolución
- Sinopsis de la película
- Ficha técnica y artística (Título original, Título internacional, Dirección, Guión, Fotografía, Montaje, Países de producción, Fecha de producción, Idioma original, Idioma del subtitulado, Formato, Duración, Festivales y premios)
7. INTERPRETACIÓN DE LAS BASES
La presentación de películas a esta convocatoria implica la total aceptación de las presentes bases. La interpretación y aplicación de las mismas corresponde a la dirección de la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote.
La Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote se reserva el derecho a cancelar parcial o totalmente de forma unilateral sus actividades en caso de que la situación sanitaria o algún otro evento ajeno a su voluntad impida su correcto desarrollo.
Las posibles dudas que suscite la interpretación de estas bases serán resueltas por la dirección de la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote.

2. SECTIONS
Entries will be considered for the following areas of the festival programme:
- Official Section of Feature Films
- Cruce de caminos: Filmmakers from the Canary Islands
3. GENERAL CONDITIONS
All films must have been produced on or after 1 January 2024.
In order to facilitate the dissemination of the films to the widest possible national and international audiences, no premiere status will be required for the films to be selected.

4. SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
4.1. Conditions for the Official Section of Feature-length Films
This is a competitive category open to feature films of any genre and from any country or nationality.
For the purposes of this competition, a feature-length film is any film with a duration of 40 minutes or more.
There is a single prize for Best Film in the Official Selection, worth €6,500 (six thousand five hundred euros), which may not be declared void. This amount will be subject to the withholdings specified in the legislation in force at the time of payment, which are included in the prize allocation. The prize will be divided into two parts. 75% will go to the person or persons responsible for the direction of the film, the other 25% will go to the film's distributing company. In the event that any of these persons have assigned or delegated by contract their collection rights in favour of a third party (production companies, agents, etc.), they must communicate in writing the existence of a prior contract of assignment of rights to the organisation of Muestra de Cine. The prize will be paid during the first four months of the year.
Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote shall conserve a copy of the prize-winning film for its archives, and may show it in up to two sessions within its annual programme in the following years, for cultural and non-profit purposes.
The organisation of Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote shall appoint a jury with a minimum of three members and a maximum of five members, who will discuss their decisions publicly and whose decision will be final. The public deliberation of the jury may not be attended by persons with direct interests in the films in competition.
The management of Muestra de Cine or a representative of the project may be present, with the right to speak but not to vote, at the jury's deliberation, which may be in person or online.
The winning film shall include the image that Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote will provide in the opening credits of each copy that is shown after the event, both in copies for theatrical exhibition and in copies for domestic support (Blu-ray, DVD or Internet), as well as in any type of promotional material that is used.
The prize money shall be paid following the signing of an agreement between the organisation of the festival and the prize-winning film, which specifies the fulfilment of these conditions.
Once a submission has been submitted, it may not be withdrawn.
During Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote, the organisation may exhibit the selected films on a maximum of two occasions, except for the winning film, which may be exhibited on three occasions. For this purpose, the production companies shall cede the rights for the public screening of the films for the duration of the festival, without any cost to the festival.
4.2. Conditions for the Section Cruce de caminos: Filmmakers from the Canaries
The section Cruce de caminos: Filmmakers from the Canaries is open to short films produced and/or filmed in the Canary Islands or directed by filmmakers born or resident in the Canary Islands. This condition must be accredited with official documentation.
The maximum duration of short films will be 30 minutes.
The section will have a competitive nature, with a prize of 1.200 € (one thousand two hundred euros) for the person or persons responsible for directing the best short film. This amount will be subject to the deductions specified in the legislation in force at the time of payment, which are included in the prize allocation.
The Jury of this section will be the same as the Official Sections, although their deliberation will take place behind closed doors.
5. ENTRY
The deadline for film entries is between 2 April 2025 and 31 August 2025 at 23:59 hours (GMT+01:00, Canary Islands time).
The producers or distributors companies interested in registering their works shall do so exclusively through the form available on the official website of the Lanzarote Film Festival: www.muestradecinedelanzarote.com.
Although access to the call for applications can be made from external platforms, only applications formalised through the form on the festival's website will be accepted.
Film registration is completely free of charge and does not incur any fees.
Films shall not be accepted for evaluation in physical formats (DVD, Blu-ray, USB...).
All works shall be submitted in their original language. If the original version is in a language other than Spanish, it must be submitted with Spanish or English subtitles.
6. CONDITIONS FOR SELECTED FILMS
6.1. Sending copies for exhibition
The deadline for the submission of exhibition prints of selected films is 20th October 2025.
In its commitment to ecological sustainability, la Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote encourages the sending of copies preferably online.
The formats accepted by Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote are DCP and hi-res digital files. In addition, as a back-up copy, the festival also requires a digital file in H.264 format or similar.
The selected films must have a screening copy subtitled in Spanish (if this is not the original language) or in English. It will also be compulsory to send a list of dialogue in Spanish or English.
The presence of the director at the festival will be required as an essential condition for competing. The costs will be covered by the organisers.
6.2. Promotional Materials
In addition to the exhibition prints, the persons in charge of the selected films must send and assign the use of at least the following materials before 20th October 2025:
- Viewing link with password
- Hi-res poster of the film
- At least three film stills in high resolution from the film
- A video clip with at least two minutes of footage
- Trailer of the film
- Bio-filmography of the director
- Hi-res photograph of the director
- Synopsis of the film
- Technical and artistic specifications (Original title, International title, Direction, Script, Photography, Editing, Countries of production, Date of production, Original language, Subtitle language, Format, Duration, Festivals and awards)
7. ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATIONS
Participation in Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote implies acceptance of the above regulations. These regulations shall be applied and interpreted by the organisation of Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote.
Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote reserves the right to unilaterally cancel all or part of its activities in the event that the health situation or any other event beyond its control prevents them from running smoothly. Any possible doubts arising from the interpretation of these rules will be resolved by the management of the Lanzarote Film Festival.
