Mort Laitner wears four hats --- writer, teacher, producer and retired attorney.
Mort wrote his award-winning memoir entitled, "A Hebraic Obsession."(2015). The first chapter of this book was then produced into a film, entitled, "The Stairs." The movie was accepted in 26 film festivals, won three awards and was screened in eight nations.
He has also published a collection of short stories, entitled, "The Greatest Gift"(2016) and a children's picture book entitled "The Hanukkah Bunny"(2016).
Laitner was the editor-in-chief of the Healthy Stories, an annual collection of health-related stories. (2006-2011).
Wearing his attorney hat, Mort wrote:
"An Analytical Approach for the Preparation of the Louisiana Bar Examination." (1975).
Laitner also co-wrote "Les Cartes de Baton Rouge". A collection of menus. (1975)
During his career, Mort received coverage on CBS Nightly News, in Life Magazine, in Money Magazine, and in the New York Times.
Mort has taught at the University of Miami, School of Medicine, St. Thomas University and Miami-Dade College.
He has taught Law and Ethics at the Masters Level at Barry University.
He is the preident of the South Florida Writers Association.
