Mexican and International Fiction and Documentary Short Films – Exhibition only. Fiction and documentary of a duration no longer than 20 minutes (incl. end credits).
Science Fiction, Horror, and Thriller Feature Films and Documentaries – Audience Award Competition. Minimum running time 60 minutes
University Short Films from Yucatán, Quintana Roo, and Campeche (Yucatán Peninsula) – Best Short Film Competition. Fiction and documentary of a duration no longer than 15 minutes (incl. end credits).

If the film is in Spanish, no subtitles are required.
For any other language, spanish subtitles are mandatory.
If subtitles are not burned into the film, an SRT file must be provided.The film must be screened in its digital version (MP4, MKV, MOV, or Blu-ray) accompanied by the subtitle file.
Submissions missing Spanish subtitles will be considered incomplete and disqualified.
𝙎𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣
Notifications and confirmations will be sent via FilmFreeway to the person who submitted the film.
Once confirmed, the representative will have 6 working days to submit any missing materials and verify all information.
Mórbido Mérida requires:
In addition to the film, three high-quality stills for promotional use, the official poster, a brief technical sheet, and the trailer.
Incomplete submissions will be automatically disqualified.
Accepted formats: DCP, Blu-Ray, and QuickTime H.264 (MOV).
Submitting a film to Mórbido Mérida implies full acceptance of these guidelines.
The festival’s management reserves the right to resolve any situation not covered in this call.
The film exhibition will not cover licensing, delivery, travel, accommodation or per diem expenses for the representatives of the selected works.
The exhibition can help provide the best accommodation and food options if attending in person.
