A showcase of the latest Greek films ( full feature and shorts) that were released in Greece in the last 18 months.

Audience award

All films are eligible, regardless of if they have distribution rights or not. A major criterion that is required is that the director and/or most of the cast, must be of Greek decent, whether born in Greece or Cyprus or abroad. All films are eligible even if they have been accepted to other film festivals. We prefer films that have been produced within the 2 years of the annual film festival event. Films that have been released on Vimeo or YouTube or are streaming are subject to other criteria. Please communicate with us for those criteria. Films submitted are only for exhibition purposes. All film submissions are expected to be with a download link or a physical DCP / USB format which must be mailed to us. All films must be able to be played in DCP format, with HD 1080p resolution and 23, 24, 25 or 30 frames/ second.
All films submitted must be in their original language and need to be subtitled in Greek or English or French. Both short films and full feature films are permitted.
A screener link of the film must be uploaded on Vimeo or YouTube with the download option enabled. Screener must be accessible until closing date of submission of the year of the event.
Films that require a KDM in order to be viewed by the selection committee will not be accepted.

Private invite-only screenings (for instance for cast and crew or donors) do not affect a film’s eligibility.
MGFF reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject or disqualify any ineligible entries.
There is no cost for a film submission
