Monte Light’s career in film began at the age of five, when he acted in films such as In the Line of Duty: Ambush in Waco, starring Tim Daly. Light received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Northern Colorado, where he performed in Little Theater of the Rockies and directed for the stage. Through his film company, American Courtyard Productions, Light's work has been recognized by Toronto Wildsound Film Festival and the Las Vegas Film Festival. A short film collection of the last twenty years of Light’s work in the horror genre was recently distributed by Meridian Releasing Group, and received awards from Women in Horror Film Festival, Sixth Sense Horror Film Festival, and the Oniros Film Awards. Light won the Second Round Drama Award from Austin Film Festival, which Moviemaker Magazine lists as one of the Top 50 Film Festivals in the world. Slamdance Festival has called Light’s work “unique and entertaining... [with] great one-liners." The Blacklist has singled Light out for his “excellent character-study” storytelling, saying “the pace of [his] dialogue stands out.” His feature film debut, the horror sci-fi Space, will be released by Random Media on March 31, 2020 to DVD, on-demand, and digital platforms.
