Monisha's currently adapting THE VIBRANT YEARS into a feature for Amazon MGM with Kate Churchill producing. Her original script THE MARIGOLD PARADOX was selected for Tubi & The Black List’s “To Be Commissioned” initiative. THE FIDDLER—which she’s attached to direct—is in development through Antigravity Academy’s first-time filmmakers program.
In the feature OWA space, she adapted ROSIE’S TRAVELING TEA SHOP for MRC Studios and wrote an original rom-com for ACE Entertainment. She also spent a year as a writer for Netflix Feature Animation’s in-house “brain trust,” where she developed an original project with co-directors Kataneh Vahdani and John Ripa. In TV animation, she's written episodes for Apple TV+ & HitRecord’s WOLFBOY AND THE EVERYTHING FACTORY.
Her short film CONDOMS & CHERRIES, which premiered at the Academy-qualifying CIFF, inspired a half-hour series developed through Imagine Impact and later sold to Sony Pictures with Doug Robinson producing. She subsequently developed a number of half-hour pitches under a blind script deal with Sony Pictures Television. She also adapted SISTER OF THE BOLLYWOOD BRIDE into a pilot for Amazon MGM with Priyanka Chopra’s Purple Pebble. Her original feature, THE BOY WHO DIED was featured on Franklin Leonard’s 2020 Black List.
Monisha is an alum of LaGuardia Performing Arts high school (aka the “Fame” school). As an actress, she has apprenticed with One Year Lease Theater Co. and has performed at LA’s Skylight Theater, New Collective, Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), and Theatre 68. You can also hear her voice in the Nickelodeon animated series, "The Twisted Timeline of Sammy and Raj".
A proud alum of USC’s School of Dramatic Arts' conservatory program, Monisha is a current member of Rideback Rise’s Circle community. Most importantly, her favorite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor is Phish Food.
