Molly Daniels is a Melbourne-based writer, director, producer and actor - one of Australia’s sharpest comedy minds (according to her). With a background in performance and training from iO Theatre in Chicago and the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, Molly has built a versatile career spanning screen, audio, and digital platforms.

She was a co-creator, producer, writer and star of the Screen Australia-funded web series CELEBRATION NATION, which was nominated for Best Online Series at the 2021 AACTA Awards. She was also the co-creator/producer/writer/ star, plus director, of PARTY OF THE CENTURY, and its Creative Victoria-funded follow-up FUNERAL OF THE CENTURY. A new iteration, ADVENTURIES OF THE CENTURY, is currently in development with Screen Australia. She directed and produced the romantic comedy series WISPY, and directed and co-wrote the comedy-sci fi series DISPLACED, which earned her a nomination for Best Director at Sydney WebFest. She currently has an additional three shorts and a digital series slated for release in 2026.

Her work as a writer includes credits working as a staff writer on Netflix’s THE INBESTIGATORS. She is currently developing an original children’s comedy, LIGHTNING PRIMARY, alongside Caitlyn Staples and production company Gristmill, which has received development support from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation. She previously received funding from the Stan and VicScreen Comedy Fund to develop an original comedy series, and is currently a participant in VicScreen’s ORIGINATE program, a talent incubator for emerging writers.

Molly also acts, because writing doesn’t quite get her the attention she desperately needs, and starred in series such as YOU'RE SKITTING ME, RONNY CHIENG: INTERNATIONAL STUDENT, TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN, and BACK IN VERY SMALL BUSINESS. Molly’s 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival show DYLAN MURPHY & MOLLY DANIELS ARE DEAD was nominated for the festival’s Best Newcomer Award. She’s also a writer and presenter on the award-winning ABC children’s podcast, SHORT & CURLY, and worked as a drama coach on popular ABC children’s programs LITTLE LUNCH and SPOOKY FILES.
