Mitja Manček (born in 1987 in Postojna) got enmeshed in production of
animated film before becoming a teenager. He made seven short animated films before he went
to Czech Republic studying animation at Film School Zlín, where he made four films. After he
finished his study in 2009, he become self-employed in culture in 2010 and started to make
short animated films professionally. He registered as a producer in 2016. He has just finished his
23rd animated film in coproduction with Radiotelevizija Slovenija. His films get screened all
around the world and get numerous awards. His most successful works are films Composition,
which got the Vesna Award for the best experimental film at Festival of Slovenian Film and film
Laurels, that was awarded as the best short film up to five minutes at the festival Hollywood
Gold Awards in April 2022. He also draws caricatures, comics and illustrations.
