The glowmedia project invites young writers aged 13 to 24 from across the United States to create original, engaging short film scripts focused on mental health awareness for the 2nd Annual Minds In Frame Script Competition.

Participants are encouraged to explore themes of empathy, resilience, and understanding while addressing mental health issues in a school-appropriate format. The competition offers aspiring writers the chance to influence important conversations about mental health, with the winning script being produced and filmed in Los Angeles in Spring 2025.

The glowmedia project currently offers eight short films and accompanying curricula addressing issues such as Prescription Drug and Alcohol Misuse, LGBTQIA+ topics, Eating Disorders/Body Dysmorphia, Stress & Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Situational Depression, and Suicide Prevention. Since its inception in 2016, Glowmedia has reached over two million students nationwide, providing free resources that teens are eager to engage with. By participating in the competition, young writers will contribute to this impactful work, helping shape the mental health conversation while Glowmedia ensures the accuracy and sensitivity of the content with support from experts in education, psychology, and psychiatry.
