Mildred Okwo is a Nigerian film Director whose films have been nominated and won several African awards including AMAA, AMVCA and “Publix du Prix” at Nollywood Paris.
Mildred's 2nd film “The Meeting” was one of the top box office draws of 2012 and set a quality standard for Nollywood films in the country. In 2016, Okwo was named one of “50 Women Shaping Africa” by Elle Magazine SA and 100 Most influential people in Nigeria by Y’Naija.com. She is a founding member of the Nigerian Oscar Selection committee and was recently featured on BBC documentary “Shooting in Like a Woman”.
Okwo is a Theatre Arts Graduate of the University of Benin, Nigeria and a former California Attorney.
