Miguel Legaspi is a filmmaker that focuses more on writing and directing films that tackle the stories of people's routined lives and struggles and try to make mundane and everyday moments special by finding beauty in them.
His film "Narding" was a finalist of Viddsee Jury Awards 2021 while his micro-short "The Faucet Monologue" participated in the out of competition category of the same competition. His recent film "Why Should We Hire You?" participated in five film festivals such as Sine Meridian, Sundayag Film Festival, PelikuLAB Film Fiesta, SineDisipulo, and Realifilm 2022 which was nominated for best Director, best Screenplay, and Best Film.
He has been studying Film in Meridian International College since Senior High School and was mentored by industry greats such as Kristine Kintana, Cholo Laurel, Lilit Reyes, Bernardo Bernardo, Rolando Inocencio, JD Domingo, Popo Diaz, Jim Flores, Dix Buhay, Carla Baful, and Jade Castro. During his senior year, he organized his school's first film festival, MINT College's Sine Meridian, and was part of Cinemalaya Institute's Ricky Lee Intensive Scriptwriting Workshop for 2021 for his thesis script and was further mentored by Giancarlo Abrahan, Treb Monteras II, and the now national artist, Ricky Lee himself.
Recently, he graduated BA Major in Film at MINT College with a leadership award and as a Cum Laude.
