Miguel Castanet Jr
Biography.
I was born in Havana, Cuba in October 18/1965.
In 1995 i obtained my degree on the Telecomunicatios Institute
"Osvaldo Herrera"; especialized in Radio System.
I completed my senior thesis degree in ICRT, - (Cuban TV and Radio Institute).
In 1985 I stared to work at ECI-TV (Cinematography and TV Studios) as Video Tape Recorder and I created two documentaries as Assistant Director and ScreenWriter. These were: Héroes de la paz (1987) and
El perro (1988).
These documentaries were selected as Official Selection in the
"Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano" (1987 - 1988).
The documentary "Heroes de La paz 1987) was recognized the best documentary at ECI-TV (1987).
1 moved to USA in 1995. I graduated at Center of Cinematography Arts and TV in 2017, and obtained my Associate Degree in Cinematography and TV Production.

I am producer, director and screenwriter of documentaries: "Entre Premios y Lagrimas" (2012), "La Amable Euforia de la Danza 2019" and "Duende en la Sombra" 2023.

I am currently in the pre-production stage of documentary "Balas de Papel".
