Matt McLaughlin is a motion designer/animator based in NYC. As a child he spent time drawing and making animations, flipbooks, and shooting short films with a Super-8 camera — drawing visual effects directly onto the film.
Recent work includes: Award-winning American Civil War micro-doc "Your Loving Son, Henry." Animated cut-paper artist Bovey Lee's animated piece, "Protection-Bunny Ears Cactus (Indoor)" that debuted at the Rena Bransten Gallery in San Francisco, CA. Collaborated and iterated with Bovey Lee and poet Ethelbert Miller to create animated short promoting voting rights. Designed and animated promo and in-video text for Shidan Majidi's music video supporting front-line workers. Created promo video for the band The Penultimate.
