17th Annual Midwest Regional Alternative Dance Festival (RADFest)
March 5–8, 2026 | Kalamazoo, MI

Dance filmmakers from around the world are invited to submit their work to the 2026 Midwest Regional Alternative Dance Festival (RADFest)—a leading platform for innovative and boundary-pushing dance. Now in its 17th year, RADFest continues to celebrate excellence in contemporary dance, live and on screen through an adjudicated, artist-focused festival held in vibrant downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Festival Highlights Include:
—A curated Screendance Series showcasing selected films in a theatrical setting
—A premiere screening event at KP Cinemas on March 6, 2026
—Additional screenings throughout the festival weekend
—Opportunities for artist Q&As, panel discussions, and networking
—Inclusion in a festival that supports both emerging and established voices in dance filmmaking

We are seeking short films that creatively integrate choreography and cinematic storytelling.

Selected filmmakers who are able to travel to Kalamazoo and attend the premiere screening on March 6, 2026, will receive a modest artist stipend to help offset travel expenses. They will also have the option to apply for hosted artist accommodations. Please email jennifer@wellspringdance.org with questions.

All screendance submissions must be 12 minutes or less. All submissions are subject to curation/adjudication. The work submitted must be the work which is presented at the festival with no substitutions. All screendance submissions must include the filmmaker/artist’s preferred acknowledgment details and a still image from the film for promotional and communication purposes.

We were honored to have Witches Cradle included in the Midwest RAD Festival. The festival’s commitment to showcasing innovative dance films was evident, and the communication throughout the process was smooth and professional. Although we couldn’t attend in person, we deeply appreciate being part of such a supportive and inspiring platform for dance on film. Thank you for selecting our work and for fostering a space where movement and film intersect so beautifully!
