MICHAEL F. WILLIAMS - BIO
Michael is a graduate of Portland State University with a social science/criminology emphasis and theatre arts major. He also holds an associate degree in criminal justice from Portland Community College. Michael is a member of Phi Theta Kappa international honor society and a decorated combat veteran
As a filmmaker, Michael has dozens of commercial/industrial productions under his belt. He has served as producer, writer, director, editor, camera operator and numerous combinations of these crafts in the course of his filmmaking career, working for such notables as Intel, FLIR Systems, and Fairchild Semi-conductor.
Partnering with Robert Biheller, a veteran Hollywood writer for feature films and television, to form ScreenWrights, a commercial/industrial production company. Clients included O’ryan Industries, Morihara International Education Films, Izzy’s Pizza (regional chain) and Vancouver Metro Transportation System. The International Association of Business Communicators and the American Public Transportation Association have recognized the creative film work of the team.
As a feature film screenwriter, Michael has penned six screenplays, four with co-writer and business partner, the late Robert Biheller. Working with Phillip Margolin, bestselling author of legal thrillers, the duo adapted two of Phil’s novels for the screen. Michael is currently pursuing his love of writing for the screen fulltime collaborating again with Margolin, on his novel Heartstone, an Edgar award nominee.
Heartstone was recently recognized as an Official Selection by Rebel Seed Films & Entertainment, sponsor for the 2018 Adapted Screenplay Festival held in Los Angeles.
His most recent project is a spec script based on Dana Stabenow’s novel Breakup, part of the Kate Shugak mystery series.
