Rules & Terms

Eligibility Criteria:

Film Length: Short films must be between 2-15 minutes long.
Production Date: Films must have been completed after January 1, 2022.
Premiere Status: We do not require a premiere status, but preference may be given to films that have not been widely distributed.

Submission Guidelines:
Format: Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway in MP4 or MOV format.
Language: Films not in English must have English subtitles.
Submission Fee: All submissions must be accompanied by the appropriate fee (see FilmFreeway for details).

Rights and Permissions:

By submitting your film, you grant Melrose Hill Short Film Festival the right to screen your film at our festival. Filmmakers retain full ownership of their work and all intellectual property rights. You consent to the use of clips, trailers, and stills for promotional purposes related to the festival.

Code of Conduct:

Zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination.
Professional behavior required from all participants.
This is a no nonsense, leave your ego at the door type of festival.
If you are not open to other perspectives this is not the festival for you.

Refund Policy:

Entry fees are non-refundable.
Winners are responsible for any travel expenses to attend screenings.
