Melinda Matticoli (She/Her/Hers) is an award winning dancer and choreographer from Skillman, New Jersey currently working out of New York City and Los Angeles. Melinda has worked with artists including Cat Cogliandro, Kevin Jenkins, Aspen Waddell, Gina Menichino, and the Verdon Fosse Legacy, to name a few. Melinda began professionally choreographing at the age of 17, and has presented work at festivals including Club NYC, Journey Dance Awards, Dance Bloc, and WAX Works.
Melinda began her dance training at the age of 3, and from there on went to train at Broadway Dance Center's Children and Teens program (Jamison Novello Scholarship Recipient). She has also trained with Lume Dance Training LA, under direction of MaryAnn Chavez and Monika Felice Smith. In her professional career, she has gotten the opportunity to perform alongside the band "Cold Weather Company" and with various artists. She has also performed and presented choreography at many notable and Off-Broadway Theaters and Venues including 3 Dollar Bill, Symphony Space, Dixon Place, Mark Morris Dance Center, and Soho Playhouse.
As a choreographer, Melinda’s work incorporates various speeds, tempos, and layers through dynamic pedestrian-inspired movement with influences of jazz and contemporary style movement and gestures. Melinda's work on film has been presented at many national and international film festivals and has won awards for "Best Dance Choreography" through New York International Film Awards and Oniros Film Awards.
Melinda's passion for teaching has given her the opportunity to teach at countless studios across the country. She currently guest teaches at Soul de Soul Dance Convention, Genesis Studios, Lume Dance Training Los Angeles, Carbon the Collective, NYC Studio Series, and more. As a DEEA certified educator, Melinda hopes to share her passion for dance to help uplift and inspire others in an uplifting and collaborative space.
