Melanie Kaklamanis is a Canadian filmmaker living from Vancouver, BC who specializes in the comedy genre. Since graduating from the screenwriting program at Vancouver Film School in 2010, she has been developing several comedy spec screenplays. She started writing and directing her own short films in 2020. Her short film "Don't Pick Up" won Best International Film at the Portland Comedy Film Festival and was nominated for Best Comedy at the Women's Comedy Film Festival in Atlanta. Her second short film "Queen of Spades" was a semi-finalist at Vancouver's Run & Gun 48 Hour Film Competition. Her third short film "First Cut Is The Cheapest" recently screened at the Alternative Film Festival as one of the Best Film Finalists. Her newest short film is a comedy silent short film called “Bumbershoot," and she also directed a proof-of-concept comedy short film called "E-Tizzle." Both are currently in post-production.
