Mehdi Aghayev

Mehdi was born in July 1985 in Baku. In 2003–2007, he studied in Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, majoring in acting and then directing.
In 2014-2015, he continued his studies in Moscow under Alexander Mitta’s receiving Master’s degree on the topic “Detailed structure of drama” and film directing.
In addition, he participated in advanced training “The Frame Composition” by Jim Turner – National Geographic’s lead videographer and photographer.
He currently works as a movie and commercial advertisement film director.
Among commercial shootings, Mehdi cooperates with such major players in Azerbaijani market as telecom operator Bakcell, one of the country’s biggest banks Kapital Bank, water manufacturer Sirab, retail supermarket chain Bravo, internet provider CityNet, electronics and home appliance Baku Electronics, etc.
“Maiden Tower” is his first auteur film, released in 2022.
