Megan Rigoni is a graduate of Edith Cowan University and La Trobe University receiving her Bachelor of Education in 2000. A former primary school teacher, Megan is an award winning playwright, screenwriter and producer. She enjoys writing heart-felt play and film scripts that educate, elevate and engage audiences.
Trading as Centre Stage Scripts, Megan began writing for theatre in education and arts and health in 1999. Her writing credits include: two plays for young people registered at Australian Plays Transform; four theatre in education plays with music for large casts (up to 100) two arts and health plays with music for large casts (up to 70) two touring mental health plays produced for small casts (2-3) two screenplays-Days Like These and The Rain Maker.
Production credits include: ‘Symphony of Life’ play with music paying tribute to Bravehearts on the Murray cancer support group Hothouse Theatre, Wodonga, Vic. 2012 ‘Heroes’ men's health play with music, Cube Theatre, Wodonga, Vic.2014 ‘Carpe Diem’ mental health play touring to 135+ regional and metro towns in NSW, Victoria and South Australia 2015-2022 ‘The Rain Maker Film’ for youth wellbeing (36 mins) 2021 available to schools in Australia ‘The Rain Maker Youth Project’ play touring towns NSW, Victoria and SA 2022 ‘Days Like These’ screenplay adapted from Carpe Diem 2022.
Awards include: ‘Carpe Diem’-partnership award NSW Government 2016 ‘Days Like These screenplay’- Best Script Award-London 2022.
Megan lives on a beef cattle ranch in Victoria’s high country with her husband. Their children are based in Melbourne and nearby country Victoria.
