Méabh de Brún is an award-winning actor, playwright, screenwriter and writer who explores difficult subjects through black comedy and dark fantasy. She is a finalist for the Francis MacManus Short Story Award, and received the DCLI/ACDI Playwriting Award for her play Dead Man’s Bells, which picked up eight festival awards overall, one of which was her award for Best Actor.

She is a recipient of the Tyrone Guthrie writer's bursary and her short fiction can be found in such publications as The Stinging Fly, Banshee Lit, Mysterion Magazine, Giganotosaurous and more. In 2020 she placed in the top 3% of applicants for the BBC's Writer's Room, out of 3,590 scripts.

She is a voice actor, and is currently performing in 'The Silt Verses' from the makers of 'I Am In Eskew', 'Omen' from the producers of 'Girl In Space' and the upcoming 'The Secret of St. Kilda' from Haggis and Dragons Productions.

She lives and works in Kerry, Ireland. This year, she is a very proud recipient of the Valentino Scholarship for Emerging Writers, as presented by Tomi Adeyemi's Writer's Roadmap and Maison Valentino.
