Ek Aasha, Mayur’s first feature film as writer and director, sees all transgender roles acted by transgender people. Most of the people cast in Ek Asha are non-professional actors. The film was awarded the Best Film and the Best Director in India International Film Festival, Pune. Mayur also was awarded the Best First Time Filmmaker, Australia Independent Film Festival.
Mayur has been honing his craft through writing, directing, shooting, editing and producing ten short films, two music videos and a number of corporate videos. His short film Forgetfulness, which he wrote, directed and produced, was accepted by eleven international film festivals. Mayur works as a Business Administration Manager at Monash University, Australia. He is a trained counsellor and an experienced mindfulness trainer. He also holds a Bachelor in Engineering and Master in IT.
