Born in Rome on June 18, 1957, he graduated in architecture with highest honors. He then undertook film studies (set design and directing), first at the CSC in Rome and then at Columbia University in New York. He took screenwriting courses in Italy and the US with Robert McKee.
He began working in 1974 with Pupi Avati on the set of Bordella. Among others, he worked with Mauro Bolognini and later with Michelangelo Antonioni on the film, which was never made, The Crew.
His short films include The Line, Francesca (with Stefania Rocca and Luca Lionello), and La stanza.
His work in documentary began in 1986 with Italian Architects of the 1900s. Among his most notable projects are L'oro di Dino (biopic on the great Italian producer Dino de Laurentiis) (2000); Sinfonia di una città; Giuseppe Rotunno: l'architettura delle luci (2002); La città garbata (2008). From 2019 are: The Intelligence of the Heart - Ilaria Occhini; Love at First Sight - Elena Cotta. In 2021 Al di là dell'Eclisse - Michelangelo Antonioni; and Liberty, a short insight into the pandemic.
Also of the same is Art Director and producer line of the series for TIMVISION Le visioni di Tim, a series in 30 very short episodes (from 30" to 45") about the world of film criticism.
In 2022 he made the docufilm Over the Rainbow (102'), (best director award I-FEST, International Film Festival of Castrovillari 2022) the short film H2No (19') and the feature film Roberto Herlitzka reads Dante (74').
As a screenwriter, in addition to the aforementioned works, he counts various radio and TV broadcasts ("Wonderland"), and Bible pre-scripts (LUX).
He has directed real Italian festivals and was editor of the online film magazine "ZabriskiePoint."
Since the mid-1990s he has been active in directing industrial films: Telecom, Ariston, MTS group, AquaFlux, Sardinia region.
Since 2016 he has been holding workshops at IULM in Milan on "Enterprise Cinema.
In 2015 a collection of his poems, "Love digs the sky (and also fosse)," was published by Aliberti Editore.
