Mathieu Baillargeon was born in 1976 in Montreal. Trained as an editor and after a year in a film workshop in London, he came back to France in 1998 with the script for his first short film, “The Aquarium”. The film won the prize for best experimental film at the Williamsburg Brooklyn Film Festival in 2001. “Last Call”, his second short film produced in 2019, was selected at 115 international festivals and won 47 awards.
Building on this success, Mathieu Baillargeon embarked on the production of “Just Another Thursday for Darwin”, his first independent feature film.
