Grew up cleaning other people’s homes with my mom, but eventually went on to forge my OWN successful career as a cleaning woman in college, specializing in toilet bowls and ovens.
As a child, I was so dyslexic & shy (& had such a bad lisp) that a nosy neighbor* told my mom she should put me in special ed classes for the learning disabled.
I went on to excel in school - not in special ed classes, though. I guess they were all full at the time, so they put me in all AP classes (advanced placement) and just hoped I’d be able to keep up. I managed. At NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, I made deans list & graduated with honors, receiving the Stella Adler Award for Outstanding Achievement in Acting. (Stelllllllllaaaaaaaa!!!!)
After college, I was even awarded an honorary MASTERS degree in acting from San Francisco’s prestigious American Conservatory Theatre.
*So SUCK it, Mrs. Munich!
