Martyn le Roux is an award-winning radio playwright who has
won numerous and highly acclaimed media awards in South
Africa. DIE PELSLOPER is his first filmatic effort.
Martyn Le Roux ontvang die gesogte ATKV - Mediaveertoekenning in 2016 vir sy
debuutdrama BLOEDLYN wat deur RSG uitgesaai is. BLOEDLYN word ook dieselfde jaar in
die kategorie vir regie as finalis benoem en word in 2017 met die Liberty Awards aangewys
as die beste drama program vir Radio onder regie van Renske Jacobs en loop met die
toekenning weg vir RSG.
In 2017 ontvang hy weer 'n Mediaveer vir sy tweede drama DIE DAGBOEK van 'n WURM, en
dit word aangewys as 'n finalis in die RSG SANLAM Radiodrama kompetisie in 2015 en
word ook met groot sukses op RSG uitgesaai in 2016. Die reaksie daarop was
oorweldigend. Dagboek van ʼn Wurm word in 2017 in nie minder as vier kategorieë benoem
en onvang Mediaveertoekennings vir Beste Teks, Beste Regisseur, en Beste Akteur.
He receives the very sought after ATKV media award in 2016 for his debut radio play
BLOEDLYN (BLOOD LINE) which was broadcasted on RSG. The play also went on to receive
the LIBERTY AWARD for best radio program in 2017. In the same year he received another
media award for his second play THE DIARY OF A WORM. The play was also nominated in
three other categories and won BEST ACTOR, BEST DIRECTION and BEST SCRIPT for
media both radio and film.
PELSLOPER is a follow up story he wrote for radio but never published it. He decided to turn
it into a film script and produce it himself.
More stories flowed from his pen in the next couple of years and more awards followed.
Le Roux lives in the beautiful Western Cape area know as the Paarl Winelands in the quaint
village of Paarl, South Africa.
