Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Martin Chan is an artist and filmmaker going into his fourth year into the Simon Fraser University Film Production Program.

As a Chinese Canadian, Martin frequently creates work that tells stories about his heritage. Hong Kong and the Cantonese language have been frequent subjects in his films, but he is also fascinated with the idea of ephemerality, and extracting from observation and contemplation to create his narrative dramas.

Whether it be making films, photographs, or working in the film industry, Martin hopes to find meaningful career in the medium of film.
