Marianna Mankowska is an animator, illustrator, and film director specializing in a cut-out, 2D and traditional, watercolor hand-drawn animation, with over 10 years of experience in producing animated shorts.
Her main themes are; Retro Cartoon Style, Atomic Age, Retro Futurism, Pin Up, Mid Century Modern Design.
She has created worldwide awarded animated shorts such as: “Maze”, “Misiek and the bloody monitor” and “Misiek and Eve from outer space”, screened around the globe, including France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Croatia, the UK, Australia, Argentina, Canada, India, and the USA.
Marianna started her career working as one of the main animators for Studio Miniatur Filmowych, on animated short “Oaza” painted by Edward Dwurnik, directed by Andrzej Baranski.
Marianna brought to life cut out from paper “Misiek” - a cheeky but naive creature, who is working in the film business, trying to make things happen, while fighting nervous breakdowns, anxiety, depression, sharks and other minor stuff…
Misiek appears frequently on her collages and illustrations as well.
Marianna is a member of Hamptons Table, the Hollywood film organization.
