Maria Robles was born a Gemini on June 20 in San Antonio, Texas. She is the first in her family since the 1830's to be born outside of Puerto Rico or Spain. That does not stop her from touting the term "Texa-Rican" with beaming pride. From a young age, the loquacious Latina loved reading, writing and especially dancing. She danced tap, jazz and hip hop until she got bitten by the acting bug in college. Since then she's been pedal to the medal with theatre, film, tv and commercial acting. Recently, she grew tired of the lack of creative control of an actress and decided to produce her own music videos ("Earth Mother"), TV pilots ("L.I.F.E", "Apartments"), short films ("La Flamenquera") and soon...feature films! Her production team won Best Production Design for the "Earth Mother" music video at Apex Film Festival in 2020. Her obsession with writing women-empowering content produced a female-forward workplace comedy called "Apartments" and the origin story of a vigilante "La Flamenquera". The filmmaking bug bit her harder than the acting bug, so she will continue down this path until the unforeseeable future. She currently resides in Madrid where she is learning the Spanish way of filmmaking and flamenco dancing.
